Trump Wrong Answers

[Go to Not Going Back][Go to Bogus Fraud Claims]

One of the most disturbing aspects of the Return of Trump is the way that his supporters will not allow themselves to see some obvious and indisputable facts. I understand disagreeing about the best way to handle inflation or deal with Russia, but some claims are like trying to tell me it is pouring when there is not a cloud in the sky. Even otherwise thoughtful people manage to prevent themselves from seeing – or at least admitting – certain facts. It is like they can walk right up to an obstacle to their faith and then dodge it before colliding.

Here is an example. This is a question (Q) I pose to Trump supporters and the many wrong answers (W.A.) I have gotten from them.

Q: Isn’t Trump a shameless liar to claim without evidence that he really won in 2020?

W.A.: No, he was really right because Dems are cheaters.

W.A.: No, he was really right because there are loopholes which could allow cheating.

W.A.: No, I will defend the imaginary Donald Trump who made reasonable calls for an impartial investigation into election fraud and not the real Trump who made unfounded claims contradicted by his own advisors.

W.A.: No, he lost all those court cases on technical grounds, not because he was wrong.

W.A.: No, I thought I saw something strange on election day so I know Dems cheated.

W.A.: No, there was a [debunked] paper based on a voter survey.

W.A.: No, what about that time Hillary was talking about Russia?

W.A.: No, what about that time Al Gore contested the Florida vote?

W.A.: No, his attorney general and Republican allies disproved his claims because…

… they secretly hate him.

… they didn’t have the guts to oppose them.

… they lied to keep their job [which they would have kept if Trump had won]

W.A.: No, he was right to make those claims based on a movie that came out later.

W.A.: No, there had to be cheating because there is no other way he could have lost.

W.A.: No, I know the election was unfair because… Hunter Biden’s laptop.

W.A.: I don’t have to answer that because I know our side is right.
